Increased Blood Pressure in Adolescents
Increased blood pressure in adolescents are usually associated with neuroendocrine alterations, which may involve a breach of relations in the central nervous system inhibitory and excitatory processes in the predominance of the latter. This may lead to hyperreactivity regulatory mechanisms. Aggravating the moment when this can be a physical and neuro emotional overload, intoxication of chronic infection foci, violations of the regime and many other factors.
It happens, and lowering blood pressure, which may occur in regularly engaged in physical education and sport students. However, they presented no complaints and feel well. Such hypotension is regarded as physiological. However, hypotension in adolescents may be a consequence of fatigue, past infectious diseases, the presence of foci of chronic infection, failure modes, and similar causes. Then, lowering blood pressure is accompanied by weakness, fatigue, headaches, dizziness and is regarded as pathological hypotension.
To determine the rules of blood pressure measurements he carried out the mass in healthy individuals. However, note that to determine the normal ranges of pressure has been very difficult, the fact that one can not reliably distinguish between physiological and pathological significance of blood pressure, and therefore no general consensus of scientists about the range of standards in blood pressure for people of different ages. We shall not give here the age norms of blood pressure by different authors, we refer only to the recommendations of the World Health Organization, under which stands borderline arterial hypertension (when the value of maximum pressure in adults in a range 140/90- 159/94 mm Hg) and essential hypertension ( at a pressure higher than 159/94 mm Hg).
Statutory recommendation of the World Health Organization adopted everywhere, but they are given without regard to age, which reduces their value.
