Frostbite
Frostbite – is local tissue damage of the organism under the influence of low temperature. Frostbite exposed fingers and toes, ears and nose.
With cold exposure, the latter responds reflex constriction of peripheral vessels, which causes an outflow of blood from the periphery towards the internal organs. Influencing tissue itself, the cold causes a decrease in their temperatures and in violation of their metabolism. At a depth of lesions share the 4 th degree frostbite.
Emergency FROSTBITE:
1. Quickly thaw the affected areas by immersion in a solution of potassium permanganate, gradually increasing the temperature from 20 ° C to 37-39o C, rub the skin with alcohol. On the street at the initial stages of frostbite pound snow.
2. Allow to dry affected areas, impose antibacterial bandages.
3. If a strong FROSTBITE give dipyrone tablet.
4. Deliver frostbitten to the nearest medical facility.
More serious forms – freezing (usually occurs in alcoholics, with injuries on the street in winter). The characteristic features of a confused mind, chills, pain, dilated pupils.
Emergency during freezing:
1. Move the victim to the weak space heating, and then into the bathroom with water at room temperature, gradually raising the temperature to 38-40o C. tuck. When warming up to 30-31o C resumed consciousness.
2. If victim is conscious – to drink hot tea, coffee.
3. Deliver frozen to the nearest medical facility.
These methods are developed and applied in areas with a constant low temperature, and you should always begin with a call ambulance.
