Concern About Nutrition
Concern about the health of school students – one of the main criteria for choosing a school parents. Much of the time our children spend in educational institutions, therefore it should be, concerned about the health of the younger generation, to give due attention to catering.
It is no secret that in recent children’s health has deteriorated: increase in the number of children with different variations in health status, chronic diseases. Recent statistics show that 80 percent of young people on health are limited in the choice of profession, 20 percent have had problems in the reproductive sphere, 30 percent suffer from various allergic diseases. Half the students are chronically ill – is dominated by gastrointestinal diseases. One of the main reasons of pathology in the health of children is wrong, wrong diet.
That is why one of the priorities of the government of the Kamchatka region in addressing healthsaving younger generation was to ensure students of educational institutions nutrition, age-appropriate physiological needs of the body for nutrients and energy.
In the current academic year, hot food arranged in all educational institutions of the Kamchatka region, increased requirements for quality and safety. In order to improve the quality of nutrition conducted a competitive selection of suppliers of food to preschool and educational institutions.
As a consequence, there is growth in the number of students to reach the hot meals at each school level: elementary school – from 83 percent to 84 in elementary school – from 43 percent to 50, in high school – with 32 percent up to 37.
Undoubtedly, today the organization of food intake requires further improvement. Necessary to develop the target complex programs with the involvement of interested bodies, services, organizations, enterprises of all forms of ownership. Strengthening the material-technical base of school canteens, the search for new forms of services, introduction of new cooking technology, providing products of high nutritional and biological value, literacy staff canteens, teachers, students and parents on proper nutrition – all these links in a chain.
Improving the same feeding can not be without modernization, introduction of new forms of service directly to schools. These forms of child nutrition services can be different: from the traditional (dining room, buffet) to new (eg, food “side” or the type of buffet).
Currently actively developing a new approach to the problem of power – the theory of functional foods. In the framework of food is considered primarily as zdravosozidayuschy factor. The main thing here is the problem of the formation of every human individual, valeological informed style of feeding behavior (depending on his needs, age, sex, occupation, health status, level of physical activity). The basis – the use of products and food supplements of natural origin and self-analysis, which allows to assess the usefulness of the diet for their own health.
Undoubtedly, the parents try to instill in your child the basic skills of hygienic culture, for keeping his health. But for continuity in the formation of habits of healthy lifestyles need to work together schools and parents. The observations and studies of the Kamchatka Institute of Advanced Training of teachers showed that, going to school, 25 percent of children in the morning do not eat breakfast, 30 percent – eat less than half for normal nutrition, 23 percent – eat half a hearty meal and only 22 per cent – full breakfast. But we know that after 2 hours in school, child, not having had breakfast in the morning, there is dizziness.
