This is the conclusion the researchers came after examining the data for almost 11 years, 28,000 women, who at the beginning of the experiment did not experience problems with the cardiovascular system and did not suffer from diabetes.

Scientists have found that 14000 women drank one to three cups of coffee daily, 2,875 women – more than 6 cups of coffee, 5554, women – 4-5 cups of coffee, 6,159 participants drank less than one cup or do not use a refreshing drink.
When summed up, it emerged that 1,418 people who participated in the study were diagnosed with diabetes. Among those who daily drank more than 6 cups of coffee (caffeinated or not) to 22% fewer sick with diabetes than those who did not drink coffee. When consumption of 6 or more cups of coffee, caffeine, this figure grew even higher: the risk of diabetes decreased by 33%.

Researchers reported that the protective effect of the drink is not associated with caffeine, but depends on its other components. The structure of the coffee bean is a lot of minerals and other substances of plant origin – and so far it is not clear exactly which component is responsible for the beneficial effect, and what is the mechanism of its protective effect. According to one version, this substance may protect the pancreas from the effect of adverse external factors.
